Before I went to find the pardalotes and bee-eaters, I encountered the local pelican population.
This one had clearly got the memo that chairs were for sitting, but didn't quite know how they worked.

The same pelican, briefly awake and looking at the photographer, but it didn't bother to change position on the back of the chair.
