I'm seeing a number of posts about folk thinking of leaving #AndroidDev due to Googles policy changes.

For clarity I left the #Android world this year, and largely for those reasons.

I bought a T-Mobile G1 on the first day. I've built SDKs and firmware for Android, I have commits in the AOSP. I built (and sold) an app store in the early days. I also worked on the Android team at Google for a while.

Android, to me, is now a Google product. Not the open platform it was.

My advice; Just do it.

@alsutton and which platform do you recommend or use now? Do you believe in some Linux based platform or are you switching to Apple?
