Over 150.000 indigenous children were taken from their families and forded into residential “schools”. This was not education. This was assimilation. This was violence. - black and white picture of children in a boarding school

The orange shirt comes from survivor Phyllis Webstad. At age 6, her new orange shirt was taken on her first day. She never got it back. It became a symbol of what was stolen from all of them.
