"Poverty doesn't come from nowhere. It's directly caused by this tolerance to wealth inequality"
as good his story telling is when it comes to the problem, i dont think his idea of the possible solution is correct.
The solution he suggests is known and fought for since forever but wothout success. it only gets worse. people nominally earn more but any progress is always annihilated by the capitalist money printing class privilege and since 2008 we know the elites are the capitalists and they will never change.
its on us and as long as we continue to use the money they can print
@dinosaur ...it will always be like this. ...so unless we start using one they cant print, i dont see any perspective that hasnt already been tried.
sadly he isnt open to such more radical alternative thoughts and i think it comes from his background
I'm not sure I understand what you're suggesting. If we use a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin as an example of "money they can't print", inequality within Bitcoin is arguably worse than fiat.
To me, the solution proposed is to focus on income inequality as the most important issue, focus on the class war instead of the culture war. The last time that was seriously fought for was Occupy Wall St and I'd argue it was more successful than not: for example I was forever changed by my experience with Occupy.
i was camping in front of the european central bank during the occupy movement.
i do agree bitcoin does not yet solve wealth inequality, but i am pessimistic when it comes to our options. what it does is ending the class privilege of printing and imho that is a prerequisite. if any alternative movement is successful, it will be undone by capitalists outprinting all progress. unions, mutual aid, worker coops, anything successful in the past cpuld never win when up against a printer
once they cant print, any lobbying, bribing, price dumping, etc.. it all costs and we already know how productive and efficient people can be as opposed to inefficient bureaucratic big corporations... its easy to outcompete them over time to take back wealth, but not while they can print away all progress.
anyway - if you dont believe it - the future will show it and maybe then we can switch to first end their printer 🤷♀️
Maybe. Around the time of Occupy I was very against central banks. Now I'm not sure.
Regardless of money printing, I don't see how workers, even if with agile productivity, could make progress on income inequality when rich people have such a lower effective tax rate in comparison to average workers.
Also if unprintable currencies like Bitcoin were so good for workers, why is there so much support for Bitcoin amongst capitalists?
