It's a privileged thing to say, but the dissonance is deeply disturbing to me. In the US no one wants to think about how horror is likely or possible to get, and here (who would want to?). Go along get along, is not the way, yet if I mention "X tangibly happened here because fascists" in cafe conversation people act as if I just took my pants off of something. No one wants to foreground it.
Ok no one wants to be angry all the time! That's destructive and does not help! But the opposite, denial, is as bad, just calmer. Boiled frog syndrome.
Without foregrounding it, in daily life, not talking precedes not doing.
