In a dark, rain-streaked green blur of forest, a hummingbird sits on a branch with lifted head positioned to the catch the one shaft of light to show off the pink flash in his throat. This is the Fawn-breasted Brilliant. I have photo'd 50 species of hummingbirds, but this one of the first I ever tried to photograph with my Nikon z72, and it was dark & rainy, but I still like the mood even if it also serves to demonstrate how far I've come.
