Since updating #AppleMusic there's enough to comment on with the UI changes, but I though that the crossfade between songs just... was broken.

Then I just realised it was "Mixing" and they have a new feature which tries to create some sort of transition between tracks and it was active as default.

I'll give it a little longer but, so far, for me, its sounded terrible.

From the "Learn more" link:

AutoMix seamlessly transitions between songs, like a DJ.

AutoMix automatically selects the best transition type, depending on the music. For example, AutoMix might remove silence at the beginning and end of a track or perform a simple crossfade, rather than a more complex transition, when appropriate.

Note: Albums and some genres play without transitions.

AutoMix is on by default. You can turn it off in the queue or in Playback Settings.

@matt This is the feature my kid is most excited about, even though it’s still a little buggy.
