Hey, #Thunderbird users - for ~1 week, my tbird has been hanging up after I hit "send" - the UI kind of freezes (I sometimes even get the Ubuntu "This app isn't responding, should I force-quit it?" dialog) and then, after 3-5s, the message sends as normal.

I only have one plugin installed (Quicktext) and I've tried disabling it, and that didn't help.

Any ideas?

@pluralistic Nothing Thunderbird does ever makes any sense to me. I'm just used to restarting it and using the built in index cleaners sometimes.

@pluralistic Sounds like DNS looking up your mail server is slow / times out. Maybe it tries v6 first and if down goes to v4? Maybe TCP first then UDP?

When things behave like that Incheck DNS first. To troubleshoot you could add a static entry in your hosts file so DNS is not used.

@pluralistic I have no issues with my installation. Maybe the problem is connected to the particular server you're using? Do you have a separate account from somewhere else to test that?
