@Floppy Can someone hard-fork Stimulus and Turbo as well?
@floppy I used to work with Rails as an intern, but it's been so long since I've had a job, and I kinda made the switch to Node.js...
I can't share much without divulging my identity, but this was a mid-sized automotive company located in India.
I have also contributed to the Rails back-end in GitLab, btw, and that was also three years ago.
Would I be the right person to sign?
@RecurringBloatware no reason why not, if you agree, go for it!
@Floppy are pull requests from people that never used rails welcome?
@Floppy My understanding is that a significant portion of the core team are employed by Basecamp (or Shopify, who are no better), so I feel like any fork would have to be by someone outside the core team. I support that in principle but I don’t know how likely/practical it is.
We now have 10 signatories on https://github.com/Floppy/plan-vert-letter, calling on the Rails Core team to fork #Rails away from #DHH's influence.
Not nothing, but not nearly enough. Keep spreading it around!
@Floppy as a non-ruby/rails dev I feel my signature would be disingenuous to add, but you can have my signal boosts all day.
@MoskitoHero thanks for being the first signature! Much appreciated. ❤️
@Floppy I don't Rails on my own time but I'm going to bring it up at work tomorrow. We're a B corp, surely we should have an opinion on this stuff
