Is Disney is pulling a head fake by "reinstating" Kimmel show? With scores of Trump-ified affiliates still refusing to air it, Disney could announce soon that it can no longer afford to keep the program going.
In other words, don't assume that Bob Iger has grown a spine.

@dangillmor Corporate Democrats have finally found an archetype of leadership in Bob Iger.
@dangillmor Not going to make any assumptions, but I would hope they have a LOT of incentives not to:
- Losing support from artists
- The affiliate mergers Nextar and Sinclair are trying are not in Disney's best interests anyway
- Having their output micromanaged by the FCC
- Pressure from other broadcast networks who also know the risks of letting the FCC run roughshod over them.
I thought it was positive seeing Eisner's comment this weekend. I know he's not part of Disney, but I suspect his views were representative of Disney management.
I may be wrong. I'm hoping though that I'm right on this one at least.
@dangillmor They should give him similar terms of those Jon Oliver have with HBO.
Allow him to post full episode on YouTube after they’re aired. Just to repair the damage done.
Yup. @emptywheel predicted something like this earlier.
This is certainly not over yet. Never-the-less, they blinked. They were pushed back. Take stock of how this was achieved, and be ready for their next assault.
