Wow Mirror now reporting an ad van protesting the Trump visits has been ceased by Police. It appears the U.K. does actually have a free speech crisis! https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/ad-van-picture-donald-trump-35916462 #freespeech #trump

So much for protecting children...
@JamesBaker Not to let the truth get in the way of a good story (and I wouldn't have been surprised had the van actually been seized) but it wasn't and no arrests were made. The police indicated to the driver of the van that they were "at risk of" breaking the Road Traffic Regulations Act (I would assume here being used establish a cordon for the visit) upon which the driver proceeded to leave the area.
@underseamonkey That’s what it’s reported the Police said. It’s reported the campaign group said otherwise. The video does appear to show a Police Officer driving the van away. But unless you were there we can’t 100% be sure what went down
@JamesBaker I'm going by the Guardian reporting, wasn't there myself. The police wouldn't be able to make a statement publicly that they did not seize the vehicle if they in fact did so but true that neither version can be definitively confirmed.
@underseamonkey Have you watched the video on the mirror site?it appears to show an officer getting into the van, turning off the display and driving it away. It is on a double yellow, not with kerb markings so possibly causing an obstruction. Bit odd the driver was not just asked to move on.
@JamesBaker I've not managed to find the video on their site so no, I've not seen that one. I've only seen the Reuters video which doesn't include it being driven away. Given I'm at work at the moment, I can't really keep digging for it.
@underseamonkey Here you go I’ve dug it out and screen grabbed it. Appears to show van driver getting out, then turning screen off, then officer driving it away. Possibly down a side road while they were questioned? Seems unusual they didn’t ask him to pull over somewhere safe, and they made them turn off the signage.
@JamesBaker no the mirror is reporting that the police deny doing more then stopping the van and anyhow on what planet is the mirror reliable ????
@JamesBaker Oh yes. Certainly does.
@JamesBaker A friend in Windsor said the men who put this image on the lawn of Windsor Castle yesterday were being chased around by the police. They were moving the large blowup photo around in a wheelbarrow, so the chase had a Benny Hill aspect that sounds quite funny.
@greenhombre I wish there was a video of that
@JamesBaker #ukpol It will be interesting to know on what grounds the van was seized. 🤔
@jillL The article claims for traffic violations!
@JamesBaker The article has been updated since I first read it.
"The driver was at risk of breaching the Road Traffic Regulations Act, and after a brief conversation with officers the motorist left the area.". lol.
The video clearly shows a cop driving the truck away.
