Microsoft to force install the Microsoft 365 Copilot app in October

"...Next month, Microsoft will begin automatically installing the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on Windows devices that have the Microsoft 365 desktop client apps....Redmond also advised admins to notify their organizations' helpdesk teams and users before the app is forcibly installed on their devices "to reduce confusion and support requests."..."

Fuck Microssoft's AI program and the horse it rode in on.

Making customers load it onto their computers isn't not giving consumers a choice. Using settings that make it god awful to turn off - assuming those are available at all - is what tech bros do when they've bet the company on software they've oversold and doesn't work well. All while harvesting boatloads of user data.

Dear O365 users, LibreOffice runs on windows fully locally.

Most features are comparable, though some complex layouts or large spreadsheets may have trouble.

Libreoffice has some suggestions for planning a migration.

Spreadsheets "may have trouble" is like calling 2008 "a few problems in the market". Libreoffice Calc crashed daily with just my standard spreadsheet that I track my hobby stuff with.
