The #Mastodon for #AppleII client has been updated and now supports quoting toots (and displaying quotes).

How a toot with a quote looks on the Apple II. Underneath the toot's text, is the quoted toot in an ASCII format:
 _Quote: {author} ___

@Mastodon Is posts going to have metrics showing how many people quoted that post. Is so are we able see those quotes?

@Mastodon Please tell me that I block *seeing* quote posts by others? Quoting is truly one of the worst features of Twitter and I really don't want to see it in my feed.

We’ve thought carefully about building this feature, and we hope it broadens your use of Mastodon!

However, you're in control: if you don’t want your content to be quoted, you can find the setting to prevent future quotes of your content under Settings -> Preferences -> Other (in Mastodon 4.4).

There’s documentation available today, along with an FAQ. If you’re a developer, draft documentation is available as well.

Quote posting will be available on mastodon.online and mastodon.social next week! We will be listening to your feedback on our new feature.

@span Mastodon Quick question that I'm not seeing in the FAQ or docs: when is something a `Quote` and when is something a `ShallowQuote`? In what cases should I expect each?
