@stux I think it's a mix of several things:
- far right ownership/capture of media
- class solidarity within the political influence/punditry/media class who see him as their peer and who see this all as a sport
- completely being out of touch with real people (who they look down on immensely), stuck in an echo chamber, and high on their own supply
