Commemoration of 9/11 is all but pushed out of the news today. For many years on this day, I went to the site, to retrace my survival, in gratitude. Here, I often summoned my memories. Today, the daily attacks on Ukraine and Gaza are on my mind.

@jeffjarvis I commemorate 9/11 since 1973. That date, 9/11/1973 was the day Salvador Allende was killed by the CIA because he claimed sovereignty for Chile, especially the right of the Chilean people to keep the profit of the abundant copper mines.

Me, I was on a city bus in Sweden, when suddenly the driver pulled the bus over to the side of the road and sat with his head in his hands. After a few minutes he went on the intercom and said that he'd just heard on the radio that a jet airliner had crashed into a skyscraper in NYC and there was a huge fire. The passengers looked shocked. Someone said "Will there be a war now?"

As a survivor, I am profoundly disturbed to see news of Trump trying to take over the 9/11 memorial and with it is memory and meaning. He corrupts everything America.

i worked at 5 WTC, the 9 story building between the towers. i stayed late at work on sept 10 so i planned on coming in late the next day and never made it in
