My own small contribution to open cooperativismo was as an early advisor of Loomio, when I convinced them to incorporate as a worker-owned co-op. Rather than as a standard company, as most social enterprises do, making them more vulnerable to being hijacked down the line.

I also got them to use AGPL instead of an "MIT" license. So if future competitors built a service on top of their code, they'd have to give credit to the Loomio team and publish their modifications.
