Hey @johnonolan, congrats on the release of Ghost 6.0 馃コ
I was recently given a complimentary paid subscription to @webworm, a publication curated by one of my countrymen David Farrier. Although that allows me to comment on WW articles there, and AP allows me comment on them here, the two don't seem to be integrated.
I have some ideas on improving the #UX of this.

What would be cool is a field in the Account page where I could add my fediverse @handle. Then the Actor for that handle is automatically added to the Follows collection of the @webworm Actor.
Even better if - once my @handle is associated with a paid subscription - replies from it to @webworm posts automatically appear in the comments under the article at webworm.co (a privilege open only to paid subscribers).

Going into total sci fi land for a minute, another thing that would be really handy is if Ghost could somehow detect fediverse accounts using the same registration email I used to subscribe to a Ghost publication. Then automagically give those Actors the same following and commenting privileges as the Ghost account.
But I couldn't even suggest a mechanism for doing that off the top of my head. Definitely a bonus points one.
Finally, a bit of blatant self-promotion;
I'm now in the process of moving the #Disintermedia blog from SS to Ghost (watch this space!). So as soon as I carve out time to finish the migration and hang the curtains, Disintermedia will be published from a community-hosted instance, right here in Aotearoa.

But first I need to figure out how to get the ActivityPub syndication working in my Ghost instance. Then how to change the default @handle (in Ghost that's @index[AT]domain-name.foo).

I'm so confused by this.
"Make sure you have added the ActivityPub subpaths correctly to your reverse proxy. These must all be proxied to ap.ghost.org over HTTPS."
So a self-hosted Ghost instance can't post directly into the fediverse? If so, that's disappointing.
As is the dependence on MallGun to email out newsletters to subscribers.
