... also describes the China's communist revolution, but also its Cultural Revolution. It describes the Occupy movement but it also describes the alt-right. Whether it's a good things or not depends on what kind of people, groups and values are driving it.

It's hard to tell from that NYT article what the situation is in Nepal. This sheds a bit more light;

Even if the popular uprising going on in Nepal can't be reduced to outrage against the government's social media ban, there's no doubt it was a major aggravating factor. Anglophone governments who are considering or trying to enforce social media bans on young people, take note. Also, young people in those jurisdictions, take note ; )
