My neighbour has her birthday at the beginning of september, usually right as the last truly warm summer days are waning.
The last few years, she has leaned into that by hosting a waterfight at her birthday party. We, being the good neighbours that we are, will often act as "the opposition over the fence" to give her nieces and nephews some extra enemies during the battle.
It's a hilariously good fun hour or so of pure chaos and a lovely way to end the summer.
