@aral this is a false statement. The redemption period starts 12 days prior expiration. The owner has still time to renew out of redemption period.

@aral Seems like the registrar reselling it should just adjust the expiration date they present to the user to account for the effective expiration date.

Also, ICANN should slap them down. Aren't there supposed to be unified policies on stuff like this?
