#IcelandAir website is basically unusable on Firefox for me. The "My Booking" menu item simply doesn't work, and all the blur effects make the site too slow to use at all.

Apparently IcelandAir thinks it's fine and dandy to be so incompetent as to only target a single browser.

If they are that incompetent regarding their website, I wonder how competent they are regarding anything else?

@rysiek Heh. I book with them pretty often, using Firefox on Linux. It's not the most elegant site I've used, but it does work for me...?

@HerraBRE I tried on a fresh Firefox ESR with no extensions and the "My Booking" menu item simply did nothing. 🤷‍♀️

@rysiek I think we should blame Trump, just to be safe.

@HerraBRE nah, I'm very comfortable blaming IcelandAir's web developers.

This is a website. It should work in a standards-compliant browser like Firefox. I've built websites. It's not that hard to do.

@rysiek @HerraBRE They use some external stuff, forbidden by my NoScript on FF/Linux. The website sort of works, sometimes by waiting 20-30sec untill the scripts fizzle out. Don't think you can pay though, without giving them an arm. 🤔

Oh, and they don't accept "name+icelandair@example.com" e-mail addresses. Their check-in system auto-corrupts them to "name plus icelandair@example.com". 🤦‍♀️

Yes, they have autocorrect enabled on an e-mail field, somehow. Yes, it's the website, nothing on my end is doing any of that.

Absolute nincompoops.

@rysiek There's a reason I set up - as extension character on my e-mail server (and still there are some sites that claim - is invalid, or worse, which don't allow their own name in e-mail address).

The amount of places that don't accept pluses in emails is really high. My partner uses nameofcompany@ourowndomain.com, which leads to many funny interactions with customer service people, but at least bots usually don't touch it.

@marmarta it's not just that they don't accept it, it's that they "autocorrect" it!

@rysiek

Use the blue chat icon on their website to chat with a service agent, available daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM GMT. Here, one can describe the browser issues directly to them.

Alternatively, contact Icelandair customer service by phone. For example, from the USA or Canada, the toll-free number is 1-800-223-5500.

Another option is to send an email. For some countries, specific email addresses are provided, such as icelandair@discovertheworld.com.au for Australia.
