This took quite a while to experiment, but now that it kinda works, feels pretty cool.

- Still experimental on my local machine (not on dev site)

- Older revisions slowly get more grayscale and less opaque.

@cheeaun What if: in regular view, still display all comments, but if there are edits, fetch their dates and display separators that link to that edit between comments?

(really like the animation of the diff, but maybe there is also room to run some actual diff and display it visually with `<del>` and `<ins>`?)

@kizu ohh that sounds like "checkpoints" 🤔

Few thoughts:
1. Not sure how "link to that edit" works. Popover showing that version? And comment 1 & 2 are for the 1st version, so showing a separator *after* them feels "too late" or something 😂
2. Edge case not covered here—the replies have their own edits too 😉, as in commenter could edit their post after the main post is edited. I'm… not going to go there 😆
3. Actual diff is cool but we're diffing HTML here. They can get very complicated… 🥲

@cheeaun I thinking more of it as a “timeline”, especially with the feature of “N months later” that you shown: it could read as “person A and B commented, then there was an edit to the post, then another comment, then another month passed, and another edit happened”, which can bring some nice context to both the post, and the comments’ place in it.

HTML diffing could be hard, haha. I wonder how bad just diffing HTML source could work.

@cheeaun Another thought: there are things that are not visible when edited: alt texts, hrefs of links, etc. I wonder if there is a good way to visualize these.

@cheeaun very nice! One note: when a menu option starts with a verb like “Edit,” I assume it will let me actually edit something and then get a little confused when it sends up showing me something. Maybe this should be labeled “Show edit history snapshots”?
