@Actionscientist Clubs do not directly receive all the money from shirt sales. A large portion goes to the kit manufacturer (Nike, Adidas, etc.) and retailers. Clubs typically earn only 10–15% of the retail price of a shirt. For a £70 Liverpool shirt, that’s about £7–10 per shirt going to the club.

@Actionscientist It's well possible, of course, that Liverpool have a special deal for kits sold at stores operated by themselves. So they buy the kits for a cheaper price, much bigger cut. And that's why they make a big deal of it, staging launch events. Wads of money coming in.
In any case, with their global appeal factored in, it's probably true that Liverpool make £100 million annually from kits alone.
There's also the unprecedented 700% global surge of kits sold since the new Adidas deal and the signing of Florian Wirtz, selling Liverpool kits in 150 countries.
One massive cash-making machine.
@Actionscientist So, ultimately, after you look at all that nuance... it's probably true that the present combination of factors, including Adidas and Wirtz, really does makes up for at least one of the £100+ signings!
