One of the best kept secrets of #InternetGovernance is that there is no way to make any change to the list of the #DNS root name servers operators. And it will not change soon (and this is partly for good reasons).

But I find strange that #DNSSEC is not mentioned when the author speaks about checking the content of the root zone.
ZONEMD, which is mentioned, works only if the client downloads the entire root zone, something that the typical resolver does not do.
