As I've mentioned previously, we produce all of these shows for #netv / @newellijaytelevision / @video at the Ellijay Makerspace using 10+ year old cameras and open source software.
All our editing happens in @kdenlive Our videos are distributed through @peertube and our cable network is powered by #ffplayout and #ffmpeg.
We're a #floss shop, running a weird little experimental cable network out of the north GA mountains. We release between 1 and 10 new original videos per month, plus some syndicated stuff from folks like Working Class Music and Captain Isotope and Mr. Lobo.
I'm really proud of the work we do for New Ellijay Television, and I'm even more proud of the fact that we get to do the vast majority of it out here in the clear, with tools that I can feel good about using, without having to bend to a corporation or their AI bullshit.
I really want to keep doing it, and to do more of it. If we're going to do more of it, though, we're going to have to make it more sustainable.
Making it more sustainable means: 1) Expanding our viewer base, 2) Getting more direct sponsors, 3) Getting more advertisers, 4) Finding other revenue sources.
We live under capitalism, unfortunately, and we've got to make enough money to pay everyone if we're going to keep this wacky little experiment going up and to the right.
