Microsoft just pulled a classic bait-and-switch tactic by ending free #Office licenses for NPOs. 😡

Don't let Big Tech lure you into their platforms with their "free" offerings. Open source alternatives like Linux + Tuta put YOU in control. ✊

Because you deserve better. ❤️

Hey @Tutanota, I haven't used your desktop client yet, but gave you a shout-out.

Really appreciate your awareness-raising blog articles and all that you stand for.

Cheers!

One small thing that's stopping me from going all-out for Tuta is the lack of a "not spam" button (or am I missing something?). I get lots of false positives in my spam folder and making rules for all of them is a huge pain. I see people have been asking for this for years, but it's still not there.

Yes, I know, but a not-spam button is so much more user friendly. Also, it doesn't clutter the rules

@Tutanota a lot of good PC’s don’t qualify for the windows 11 upgrade. They make ideal platforms for Linux.

I don't work there, I don't get paid for it, and I don't even use it anymore, but for the sake of completeness, I wanted to mention that there is a second, albeit commercial, alternative to Microsoft Office: SoftMaker Office from Germany: https://www.softmaker.com/en/products/softmaker-office

I used it a lot and enjoyed it during my studies many years ago. I no longer need any office software, as I have created my own template in LaTeX for letters and am happy with it.

Outlook -------> Thunderbird.

That is the correct equivalent program.

Wow, sounds great!

Does everything support linux now? I guess that must have changed recently. And do I need to study linux for years so that I can understand how it works? Or does it do things automatically now?

I'm all for Linux, if only it was convenient and people could understand how to use it easily.

Just as long as I don't need a thick manual.

@liaizon The Tuta server is very complex. We plan to build a small, open-source server that enables you to self-host, but this is further down the line.
