job ads:

"digital" and "assets" both present: crypto grifters.

"machine learning": gen-AI slop vendors. Exceptions are hypothetically possible and one day i'll see one.

@davidgerard The fuckers have made the phrase "AI" toxic and are now trying to rebrand back to "machine learning?"

it was at least kind of stupidly funny when they were advertising for "prompt engineers".

@davidgerard Forget the genAI, now is the perfect time to add #GaussianSplatting to your CV! It sounds cool, and it actually is both cool and useful. Bonus: Gaussian Splatting sounds like some kind of cyberpunishment that might be reserved for particularly unrepentant grifter techbros. And with your help, dear reader, it could be... goose_shades

@davidgerard Similarly, the term “generative art” has now been irrecoverably contaminated by AI grifters, to the point that the people doing what it would have referred to (i.e. creating art by writing algorithmic rules) have fallen back to calling it “procedural art”.

@davidgerard We have a client with a working/useful computer vision product... and the word AI doesn't appear on their website because they presumably don't want to seem like grifters

Everything is backwards
