Apparently Stewart Lee has a "podcast" called Whatever Happened to the Counter culture? that has interviews Shirley Collins and others.
He knows his music (big #improv fan, apparently) so I want to hear this.
Can't find it on a search, so suspect it's "exclusive" to some app or other

Yeah I thought that might be it. I'll have to wait for them to be liberated because I'm not downloading BBC Sounds. Not least because being abroad I've no guarantee that they'll let me listen to anything.
