…Since I heard the above ≈10 yrs ago, I've been annoyed ∄ a searchable database of known hold music (no, I won't use Google or Alexa).
Another thing I ponder on hold, when I hear #GPL'd clips that are clearly Allison Smith's voice¹ from #Asterisk, I wonder if playing them for me is distribution & thus a GPL violation.

@cwebber the old Cisco PBX hold music is a banger. Song is named opus #1, which cracks me up a bit.

@cwebber it's impressive how distorted hold music can get. It's like they've forgotten that the telephone was invented to transmit music.
I do not, however, enjoy being on hold, or on the kinds of calls that would have hold music. I just enjoy the music
