No matter what people read or write, if they don't defend the right of authors and readers of explicit genre romance, they'll soon see their own freedoms curtailed. Once they get rid of explicit books, they'll go after women's agency, because only absolute subservience works for them.

They're going after the explicit sex, because they can sell it as porn, and porn as obscene and evil; but just as they went after Roe to force women to carry pregnancies to delivery (or death), they'll next go after any freedom women have. They have told us they want to repel the 19th Amendment.

The end goal is women as beings who cannot be trusted to determine their own destinies, a return to the time where men allowed--or didn't--women to be anything beyond unpaid servants and baby machines.
Genre romance is but a step on that road, but it fucking matters.

I have been quite vocal about the bullshit of genre romance authors writing non-explicit sex to side with the puritans, as if that would protect them. You side with the Nazis, they will turn on you, and sooner rather than later. Fight for others' freedom, protect your own.
