Internal Israeli intelligence data reveals that at least 83% of Palestinians killed in the Gaza offensive were civilians, contradicting official Israeli claims of a 1:1 or 2:1 civilian-to-militant ratio. The classified database, managed by the Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman), lists 47,653 Palestinians deemed militants, including 34,973 Hamas members and 12,702 Islamic Jihad members. By May, around 8,900 operatives were reported killed, mostly junior, with 100–300 senior Hamas operatives among them.
