🇪🇺🤝🇺🇸

Today, the EU and US moved forward in restoring stability and predictability in transatlantic trade.

This agreement brings:

✅ Predictability and stability for businesses and consumers
✅ Protection for millions of EU jobs and long-term economic growth
✅ Opportunities for industries on both sides of the Atlantic, including the car sector

Fair, balanced, and mutually beneficial, this deal avoids harmful escalation and strengthens the transatlantic partnership.

@EUCommission

By signing up to mutual recognition of vehicle standards with the US the EU has waved the white flag on road safety. This is not a technical detail – it is a political choice that puts trade convenience ahead of saving lives.

Europe’s mandatory requirements for life-saving technologies such as automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance and pedestrian protection have made our cars safer and our roads less deadly. None of these protections are guaranteed under US rules.

@EUCommission

Deepest contempt for your lies, your betrayal, your treason.

You are enemies.

Enemies of our rights and protections, our democracy, our health, our safety.

You are as reck- and shameless as the fascists in the US and Russia.

Wishing each and everyone who is responsible for this brazen attack on us the most imaginable worst.

@EUCommission

So, you want to

  • surrender to a 7x default tax increase for European companies (2.);
  • urge European companies to buy liquified natural gas, oil, nuclear energy products for 750 billion USD; as well as NVIDIA chips for 40 billion USD, to burn our planet faster (5.);
  • urge European companies to invest 600 billion USD in the USA, to increase our unemployment rates (6.);
  • accept lower car environmental and security US standards, and to extend this "approach" to other sectors, as well (8.);
  • lower European standards, including sanitary ones, to allow for importing more US food and agricultural products (9.);
  • drop putting a price on carbon emissions for US products (11.);
  • drop sustainability requirements for US products (12.);
  • allow the US to bypass our own checks, and to allow US regulators to declare that US telco products meet European cybersecurity requirements (13.);
  • weaken copyright protections to foster the business models of US "AI" corporations (15.);
  • ask the US for permission when the EU wants to change their tax laws (18.).

This is unconditional surrender. You're the best lobbyists and foreign agents Trump ever had, and disgusting traitors of Europe.

@EUCommission It is ridiculous that the Ursula Commission would give in to the baseless requests of the Trumpist regime for a "deal", when there are no objective reasons to do so.

In this case, China and Brasil take a principled position, the Commission of the ENP again appears weak and ready to give in to corruption.

A shame, really.
