Earlier this month I helped one of NYC's most iconic neon shops move from their longtime Tribeca home to Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The company has a new owner Dave, who I like, an while its bittersweet to see them move out of Manhattan, Brooklyn is way better for artists at this point anyways.
Its been way fun and sort of a dream come true for me to bend for them for the month while their main bender, Jimmy is on vacation. Definitely feels good and validating to hear their designers tell me my bending looks pretty. They have lots of fun designs for me to make, and as per usual- the neat commercial work is feeding my art ideas- leading to a flurry of new art sketches partially inspired by some of the bending projects they are giving me.
Was fun loading that ol truck up with the bombarder an tables an way over a ton of tubing an whatnot. I hope they have some fun parties once they get more moved into the Brooklyn space.

A little "Small Time" thing I bent for them for a comic book store. Its been so fun filling in while they are between shops and their bender is on vacation. I had fun making it, and their Art Director complimented me on it. The pink "neo ruby" glass is provided by them, as is all the glass for the things I make for them

The Old Truck loaded up with the entire aging table, bombarding transformer, collection of vacuum pumps, bombarding table, glass scraps and lots of various tools amidst the once industrial Tribeca neighborhood- now almost all art galleries, an luxury event spaces. White rag tied to the back of the strapped down table makes it all legal :)
