The Eternals is an overstuffed, overlong movie, full of great ideas and visuals, thrown in a blender and served cold. In hindsight it's a real shame it wasn't made as a TV series.
In just 8 episodes, we would have had time get to know each of the many characters, and how they relate to each other. We could have seen their relationships shift and fragment over time, instead of getting an exposition dump and a video slideshow of it all in the prologue.

The various set pieces and surprise turns crammed into The Eternals could have been spread out across the episodes, giving each them room to breath. It's hard to be wowed by epic battles and beautiful visuals - and some of the design work on this film was excellent - when another one comes along a minute later. Then another, then another. Like too much ice cream cake in one sitting.
Such a missed opportunity.
