I loved the article "Protocols Not Platforms" by Mike Masnick. I shared it incessantly.

But I hate that even great outlets like @onthemedia treat it like the origin of the idea of social media by open protocol. Like he came up with the concept in 2019. It was great as an explainer for regular folks, but I assume the Twitter team knew about #ActivityPub for years before they considered rolling out #bluesky.
