The courts are likely to force #Google to sell #Chrome to someone, which may spark a bidding war.

@sjvn that would be fun to see. But we had browser monopolies before and all I know learning from them is it fixes nothing and new standards are even more bloated from the original idea. Not that breaking Google / Chrome is bad.. I just doubt web in general can be any better. All I like in HTTP is webapi consumed by plethora of client techs… HTML/Js can be a client but not exactly one browser technology, this or that should define it. History shows that having a spec/standard is not good enough to ensure ecosystem is healthy, normalized and everyone to benefit from.
