Hmm, all the sellers of e-bike batteries online (LiFePO4 or Li-ion) are no-name mystery Chinese brands. Are the LiFePO4 actually LiFePO4, or are they Li-ion? Will they explode while charging? Not having any kind of safety standard attached to e-bike batteries and their manufacturing really seems to be unfortunate. (even saw a YouTube video showing the crappy construction of a Bosch battery.. .so even the high end stuff not great). #BikeTooter

@ai6yr Bosch is also terrible because of their proprietary protocols and tooling.

If you are into ebikes, you've got to embrace the cheap Chinese stuff.

But New York has recently passed legislation requiring UL certification of ebikes and batteries, so there should be a better market for certified products, that have at least some independent oversight.
