@JessMahler Thanks for mentioning this book. It sounds really interesting. I am exploring the idea that at least for this time in my life I am asexual so this could be actually helpful so thank you again.

@JessMahler I feel weird about claiming the label asexual because when I was young, I was really interested in sex and now I am older it's just like yeah that was fun, but there are other things that I'd rather do and other ways I actually want to spend my time and it just does not interest me at all, but I don't know if this is forever or if this is for right now and I'm not sure if using the label would be appropriating something that isn't mine… so it might be helpful to read a book like this

Two thoughts:
First, the definition of asexual does not require you to have ALWAYS been asexual. Some people are ace as a result of trauma, or medications they need to take, or other reasons that mean they used to be allosexual and now aren't, and that's all completely accepted.

Second, my experience was somewhat similar to years, but what took me years to realize was that libido and sexual attraction aren't necessarily linked. I was interested in sex when i was younger because I have a high libido and assumed that meant I was interested in sex with other people. In reality I'm actually low-key sex repulsed and stuck with getting horny a lot. Just took me a while to sort out the difference.
