Urgent Android help! SOLVED using @decibyte’s advice: I used Pixel 9a spoofing profile in Aurora Store. Thank you all! 🌻

I must install the Interrail Android app in order to to activate my Interrail ticket, but Aurora Store tells me the app is not available for my device. How can I get it? I could maybe download the APK from Apkpure, but I’d use it as the last resort, since I don’t know how trustworthy it is.

I’m using a Fairphone 5 running CalyxOS 6.8.21, and Aurora Store v4.7.2, downloaded from F-Droid all features are enabled in MicroG. Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Aurora

@tommi Here's the signature used by official Google Play builds that you can use to verify that you got the genuine article from a third-party source, if you choose to use APKPure or download from someone else - first in the format used by https://github.com/soupslurpr/AppVerifier

org.eurail.railplanner
4E:93:E9:A0:C7:A5:AD:70:91:98:C3:0C:20:13:9A:43:FB:F9:3C:77:DE:79:EE:73:D1:B8:F1:1B:2C:40:FE:FC

If you're more inclined to use something you already have, some app or file managers may show it differently - try to look for SHA256 if you can, which should show the above figures, but possibly formatted differently. Alternatively, the (not so secure, but if you can't see anything else…) MD5 is 75e2edb47ac621fd655399197a8702f1

@tommi I recently got into a similar situation where no new apps would allow me to install and existing apps wouldn't update, saying they were not available for my device (FP5, LineageOS). I tried a thousand different things. But what ultimately worked for me, was going to the settings in Aurora Store, then into the Spoof Manager settings and selecting the "Pixel 9a" profile. It has the same API version as the default profile, so I assume it's a safe choice.
Screenshot of the Spoof Manager settings in Aurora Store. Instead of the "Default" profile for Fairphone, the profile for "Google Pixel 9a" is selected. Both profiles share the same API version, "API 35".

@tommi you can try to fake your device in the Aurora store, for example select a Google Pixel and try to install again.

@tommi as a pure test I tried to install it on my Aurora, and it worked. I'm running Aurora 4.7.2 on Lineage OS, in the UK.

@tommi is that a useful app even without needing an Interrail? Looks quite useful potentially :D

@tommi I've had success before with logging out and logging in anonymously (again). Possibly a few times. Some apps are region restricted and you have to luck out to catch an anonymous account that has the right region.

@jacobscharmberg I tried that too and it worked at times, but it’s not working in this case, probably because it’s not a region issue. If I remember correctly when the problem is related to a region it does not throw this error but a more specific one.

@tommi Wait for a couple of days for Aurora to ship an update and meanwhile use e.g. apkmirror or apkpure as proprietary APK downloaders.

@lewd Are you saying this because you know Aurora is shipping an update that fixes the issue?

I could install Aurora Nightly if that’s the case

@tommi Usually, when there are API issues with Google Play as in recent days you can expect an update to be shipped soon-ish, but I have no insights.
