Has there ever been a clinical study of why FLOSS/GNU/Linux people behave like that?

1. Person: Unrelated topic.
2. FLOSS: WELL ACTUALLY
3. Person: Not helpful.
4. FLOSS: WHY NOT? U R MEEN!

The fuck is wrong in their brains? That they think people want unhelpful "answers" and then get upset when you tell them how unhelpful they're being?

Were they not beaten enough as children/adults? Too much? Should we escalate to electric shocks and waterboarding or is there a "talking cure"?

I would equate it to religious mania, but until recently religion's tide had gone out in the good parts of the US, so I rarely encountered them being that pushy.

Used to get evangelists at bus stops, passing churches, or at my door, but I'd start preaching Cthulhu cultism back at them and they'd leave me alone.

Learn how to say:
Ia! Ia! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!
And it wards them right the fuck off.

So what's the anti-lintwit equivalent?
