To all y’all #paddleboard#SUP folks, and frankly anyone on the water in Colorado:

mountain lakes and reservoirs, and reservoirs down low fed by snowmelt, are deadly cold. Weather here changes in minutes, sometimes without any warning. You cannot swim to safety if the water is so cold that your muscles lock up. Whitecaps will swamp you and fill your mouth with water.

Wear a PFD (life vest). Do it. We’ve had about 2 drownings a week all summer because people aren’t wearing flotation.
