Have been living in Switzerland for over 17 years, but for some reason almost always I have been abroad on August 1st, the national holiday remembering the founding of Switzerland in 1291. Was riding my trainingsride on the "Panzerpiste" (military shooting range tanks etc), which is open to the public in the weekends and national holidays.
So I was just minding my own business until I heard shooting and the first thought was "oops, I made the wrong decision, I misread". Only after a few seconds I saw a couple of boys laughing. It only dawned at that point it was only fireworks to celebrate August 1st. 馃槄 I never realised they shoot so early...
