Same for me. I.e. I have two mobile phones, but I typically do not carry them around 🙂

One is my #Mobian#PinePhone, which I don't use that much, because it eats battery for breakfast.

The other one is a dumb phone, which I only carry with me when really needed. But battery life is ≈ fortnight!

@ErikUden I use two phones too
BUT neither of them is connected to the internet. One is for phone calls and old school SMS, the other one for 2FA

Everything else is done on my computer and in the browser

One is rooted, one is not. You cannot give me a better solution.

“oh, but you can have fixes on your rooted phone so you can install banking apps and whatever” no. the banking app updates and ceases to function. I can't deal with that when rent is due.

Two phones. You can't beat the experience.

Sounds good. The very *last* thing I want on my stock Android phone is a banking app.
If the banking app won't install on a phone with 3rd-party OS, it's no great problem.

@ErikUden True. I chose an older model so it was affordable, but I agree.

They are looking for a different OEM at the moment. So may be an option in the future.

@ErikUden oh i didn’t mean the solution of having two phones as you described. I meant the evangelicals who don’t understand the average person’s need for banks

@ErikUden true, but we all need banking services unless we are living on the streets begging for food, or in the care of guardians

It’s obvious. One for the bullshit apps where most of your "friends" are on. The other for your real friends and professional business.
(I prefer one w/o bullshit, but I know that is not always feasable.)
