I've just discovered another instance of #enshittification. When I tried to use the canon connect app to download photos from my $2,000 #canon camera. Apparently the latest update requires an account on canon's cloud service just to use the app to connect to the camera over WiFi. This might seem harmless, it is not! Now I am required to have an Internet connection in order to take advantage of camera functionality that was previously working without one.

This is unnecessary and unacceptable.
