I have been considering doing some casual streaming from my PS5, and I remembered they released a camera for that. Apparently you just… can’t buy it anymore (edit: in the US)? It’s not available direct from Sony or from any retailers.
And because you can’t use a standard USB webcam, you just can’t stream with a camera feed directly on a PS5??
Anyone know what’s going on here?
There is a bracket they will send you for free to allow you to plug in a PS4 camera into a PS5. I got one of those sent to me when I registered my PSVR.
@futuresprog I'd have to buy an outdated PSVR for PS4 solely for that purpose, though. 😬 You have to provide the PSVR serial number.
PS4 camera (either v1 square or v2 round) were sold separately but were required for the PSVR.
Anyhow, just checked and bad news:

In both cases, they released something to give the camera new life mid-generation: motion controllers for the PS3, and VR for the PS4. There hasn't been anything like that this time around, so I guess not as many retailers are interested in stocking it.
