Ever since I hung the Ruckus on the wall, all peripheral coverage issues disappeared. At that point, I decided to try re-hanging the old MikroTik cAP AC (with the wave2 drivers) in the same spot to compare.
All in all, it performs well there too, and all devices remain stably connected, albeit with a lower signal level. I imagine, however, that if there were 40 devices, I'd already see some differences.

Now I'm curious to test a cAP AX...🤣

@stefano If you want something a little more subtle there are Omada APs that mount in a wall plate.

@stefano Ruckus is another of these shady outfits I'd have difficulty trusting, no matter their technical prowess. Same as Unifi actually.

@fedops I have two devices - a R650 and a R550. I think they're overkill for my needs, but I need to test things before suggesting/deploying to clients.
I wasn't aware of this situation and it's not reassuring at all, considering the price of those devices.

@stefano @fedops the patches for those vulnerabilities (which look totally par for course for a network equipment vendor, why do they love hardcoding passwords so much?!) were released several days ago tho. I guess it’s the same old story, the security researcher wants to see the issue fixed asap, the vendor thinks that if it hasn’t been a problem so far it can very well wait for the next scheduled release in “only” six months… At least this time it was the vSZ and not the APs :/
