Right now, #COVID19 infection risks are low in Wisconsin (where I live) and parts of the nation (but much higher in some states in the south and west). But please realize that we are STILL dealing with a NEW virus that we've known about for just five years. We've never had a virus that reinfects people as quickly as does COVID. We don't know what one COVID infection may do to people 7 to 10 years later. We certainly don't know what five or ten infections will do to people.

But, we know without any doubt that repeated infections are additive to the risk of chronic Long COVID. We know COVID is a neuroinvasive virus that harms brains, cognition, and memory. We know COVID is associated with higher rates of major cardiovascular events. And, we know COVID damages immune systems, raising the risk of acquiring other diseases.

Please stay a bit more cognizant of the risks COVID still represents to your health and the long-term well-being of your family. If we learn that children infected a dozen times before adulthood face dementia issues in their 20s and 30s, it'll be too late to consider how wearing a mask at a conference, on a plane, or at a concert might've prevented that from occurring.
