@aral Recalls seem to be increasing but they can be very hard to spot.
Sometimes they're posted at the market...so you see it on the way in next time i.e. after you've eaten the last lot of groceries including the dodgy food!
A better system is needed but I don't know what.
We cook from scratch but I understand how impossible that can be for some (various reasons).

@aral same in England, I noticed this after going on a diet and discovering that prepared meals have near identical calorie counts irrespective of brand, and from the packaging its clear that the same factories make them for numerous "competing" brands

@aral One of the numerous reasons I stopped eating pre-prepared food several years ago.
