Gore's boil water notice has been lifted as Greenpeace points the finger firmly at dirty dairy farms.

The town’s drinking water comes from two wells. The contaminated well with high nitrate levels is Coopers Wells, 5km northeast of Gore and surrounded by a dairy farm.

*** "Surrounded by a dairy farm." ***

But Federated Farmers Southland president Jason Herrick claims Greenpeace has an agenda and it's too early to play the blame game.

It's "Thoughts and prayers" but for dairy run-off. Can dairy farmers not see that they're poisoning their own communities?

If 'helping rural communities to get drinkable water' is an agenda, then I'm with Greenpeace.
