@fdroidorg I notice that the Sapfir sampler by @makepost@mastodon.art, added to F-Droid this week, isn't listed in the article along with other new apps, but instead under the spoiler in the updates section. Apparently there's an edge case: when an app is in active development and publishes another release the same week it's added, the software or process used to find apps for TWIF lists doesn't consider it a new addition but just an update. Can it be fixed?
@fdroidorg Thank you for the update!

I don't fully understand yet why it took 2 cycles, but I can accept it as just "due to technical reasons". What I don't understand is why you couldn't just make 2 "dummy" build cycles that don't actually build anything and only update the index - that way they would be super quick and would get over the 2 build cycles hurdle almost immediately. Then you can start an actual build cycle and be back on schedule.

@fdroidorg Thanks!

> Second, we didn’t actually wait two real cycles. We wanted the fix faster, so we forced the second cycle to build one single app and then stopped it. The server then continued, as written above.

This is effectively very similar to what I meant. It's nice to know you did do something to shorten the wait time for the fix.

Interesting that the other operations take hours, but that's still much better than days!
